Ingredients
For the Beef:
1 lb lean ground beef
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
1–2 tsp gochujang (optional, for heat)
2 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp oil (for cooking)
For the Bowl:
2 cups cooked white or brown rice
½ cup shredded carrots
½ cup thinly sliced cucumbers
¼ cup bean sprouts
¼ cup sliced bell peppers or radishes (optional)
1 soft-fried egg (optional, for topping)
Instructions
Prepare rice using a rice cooker or stovetop. Keep warm.
Heat oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
Add garlic and ginger. Sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and gochujang. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until well combined and slightly thickened.
Turn off the heat and stir in green onions.
Assemble bowls: Add rice as the base, top with beef, then arrange carrots, cucumbers, and sprouts around.
Add sesame seeds and an optional egg on top. Serve immediately.
Notes
Swap beef with ground chicken, turkey, or tofu for variations.
Add kimchi or pickled veggies for extra tang.
Cauliflower rice works for a low-carb version.
Store leftovers in separate containers for best texture.
Double the beef for meal prep and refrigerate up to 3 days.
