Description
Cheesy Taco Sticks are a savory fusion of tacos, quesadillas, and mozzarella sticks. Wrapped in golden tortillas and filled with flavorful seasoned beef and melty cheese, they’re the ultimate finger food for parties, game nights, or quick snacks. Customizable and crowd-pleasing, they bake up crisp outside and gooey inside every time.
Ingredients
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Flour tortillas (8–10 medium size)
Optional: Melted butter for brushing tops
Optional: dipping sauces (salsa, guacamole, sour cream)
Instructions
Preheat Oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt. Cook for 1–2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
Assemble Sticks: Place a tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon a line of taco filling along one side. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Roll tightly like a burrito, tucking in edges to seal.
Bake: Place rolled sticks on the baking sheet, seam-side down. Brush with melted butter if desired. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden and crispy.
Serve: Let cool slightly. Serve warm with dipping sauces of choice.
Notes
You can substitute ground beef with turkey, chicken, or vegetarian options like black beans.
For a spicy twist, add chopped jalapeños or spicy cheese.
Freeze unbaked sticks on a tray, transfer to a freezer bag, and bake from frozen when ready.
